Choosing the right time to put an animal is never easy and is often very difficult on the owners. Saying goodbye to a loving pet is something that the staff here at Homestead Veterinary Medical Center does not take lightly. We do our best to make the process as smoothly as possible. Different options are available for the after care and can be gone over at the time the appointment is made. Many owners want to be present for the procedure and we fully understand that it is an important part of the process of saying goodbye. We will take the animal briefly to the treatment area to place an IV catheter and then will return them to the room where our vet will come in to administer the sedation and then the final injection. This process is the easiest way to ensure that no pain is felt by your pet at any time
